Type of Trip
On the border between Slovenia and Austria, the Karawanken mountains offer some attractive via ferrata climbing routes. Join me for an exciting adventure!
As a part of the Karawanken mountains, there’s a 10 kilometer ridge with several peaks called Košuta ridge.
Here are the routes I propose to do in that area:
|Ridge name||Peak / route name||
|Price per person (EUR)|
|Košuta ridge||Cjajnik / Lärchenturm||
Cjajnik/Lärchenturm is a wild rocky tower on the north side of Kosuta ridge. Here, there’s a tough via ferrata that requires a lot of strength!
|Košuta ridge||Košutnikov Turn||This is the highest peak in the Kosuta ridge. It has two steep medium hard via ferratas. From the summit, there are impressive views of Austria as well as the Kamniško Savinjske Alps.||250||200||167|
We can go for a 1 or 2-day trip, and choose the most suitable route for you according to your skills and wishes.
Besides, I can pick you up from your accommodation in Kranjska Gora, Mojstrana or Bled, and take you back there after the trip.
If you want to challenge yourself on a via ferrata in the Karawanken mountains, please contact me. I will be happy to be your guide there!
You can also consider these other exciting via ferrata routes in the Julian Alps.

What happens if I need to cancel the trip?
If you decide to cancel, you’ll get a 100% refund (minus fees) if the cancellation is notified up to 60 days before the start of the tour, a 75% refund (minus fees) if you cancel between 59 and 30 days before the start of the tour, and a 50% refund if you cancel between 29 and 21 days before the start of the tour. If you cancel less than 21 days before the first day of the tour, you won’t receive a refund. Take into account, however, that if accommodation, flights or transfers were included in the trip you booked, then a different policy may apply as the guide will be bound by the provider’s cancellation policy.
What happens if the guide cancels the trip because of bad weather/unsuitable conditions?
If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the guide to cancel the trip, he or she will: a) propose a similar activity at a different place where conditions are better, or b) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or c) cancel. If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).
What happens if the guide doesn’t show up or cancels for personal reasons?
If the guide cancels for reason of injury or other, you will get a 100% refund on your trip.

About the Guide
I am an aspirant iFMGA mountain guide born in 1980 in Mojstrana, a Slovenian village close to Mount Triglav, the highest mountain in the country at 2864 m.
From an early age, my parents took me to the mountains during summer and winter. At that time, my father was part of a mountain rescue team in my hometown and was also going on expeditions to the Himalaya and the Andes, so he became a big inspiration for me. We went climbing, hiking, sport climbing and ski touring together. His enthusiasm truly influenced me.
I went to Alpine school, then Mountain rescue team, I did the Alpinist exam and I became an Alpinist instructor. After that, I also studied to be a professor of Sport. Several years later, I decided to begin my mountain guide education and to become an IFMGA/UIAGM certified mountain guide.
