Description

The Swiss mountain of Zinalrothorn, which stretches to 4,221 meters, is located in the Pennine Alps.

It is one of the highest summits that separate the Matter valley to the east and the Val de Zinal to the west.

We’ll climb the mountain via its north ridge, which is compact and beautiful rock that offers a varied climb. This has built its reputation as one of the most beautiful 4,000-m climbs in the canton of Valais.

Zinalrothorn was first climbed in 1864 via the north ridge by the English couple Leslie Stephen and Florence Grove, along with the guides of Jakob and Melchior Anderegg.

Potential participants for the climb are required to have very good mountaineering skills as well as being in excellent physical fitness.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
