The weather is warm year round in Los Angeles with the hottest weather in July and August. It's mostly dry year round
Castle Rock State Park and Malibu Creek State Park are both great options for kids. A little more further afield you have Joshua Tree National Park, here you’ll find awesome rock formations and both single-pitch and multi-pitch crags. If you want to take lessons, Point Dume is an excellent place to take a rock climbing course and is very close to the city
