It may be famous as the home to Hollywood, but Los Angeles offers so much more. With gems like Castle Rock State Park close by and epic national parks like Joshua Tree less than a three-hour drive away, it’s also home to some amazing rock climbing locations.
Castle Rock State Park and Malibu Creek State Park are both great options for kids. A little more further afield you have Joshua Tree National Park, here you’ll find awesome rock formations and both single-pitch and multi-pitch crags. If you want to take lessons, Point Dume is an excellent place to take a rock climbing course and is very close to the city.
