Come with me on a day-hike through Slovakia that has EVERYTHING! If you have ever wanted to visit historic mountain huts while strolling past numerous waterfalls and pristine mountain lakes in one day, then this is the perfect nature trek for you!
The High Tatras of Slovakia encapsulate the intrigue of the region´s diversity – wildflowers and forests are as eclectic as the wildlife. Each level of terrain, from valley to meadow to mountain, offers its own piece of beauty, adding to the overall experience of Slovakia nature.
This program gives you the opportunity to see the oldest mountain hut in the High Tatras – Rainerova Chata – as well as the ever-popular Tery Hut. You will also get a chance to see the Zamkovsky Hut and take a short rest on your way to the valley.
The hike to Mala Studena Valley is filled with stunning waterfalls. This sightseeing trek puts you front and center of Obrovsky Waterfall and the various waterfalls of Studena Voda.
The back of the valley is home to the five mountain lakes of the Spis region.
You will start your trek from Hrebienok and visit Rainerova Chata (1,200m) as you climb the landscape to the waterfalls. We can rest at Zamkovsky Hut (1,450m) before heading into the valley.
A steep hike will take us to Tery Hut (2,010m) to look out across the Tatras. Our path back down will take us to the back of the valley to observe the five Spis lakes, and then ultimately return us to our starting point in Hrebienok.
This is an intermediate hike with a steep section, and it should take us about 5 – 7 hours to complete. You should be in reasonably good physical condition for this program.
Book this trip immediately and see the unrelenting beauty of waterfalls, valleys, and lakes – all in ONE hut-to-hut hike!
I can take you on an amazing day-hike to Krivan if you wanted a different adventure! And there is also a scrambling loop trek through the Velicka, Kacacia, and Velka Studena Valleys!

Mountain Leader
I'm a UIMLA mountain leader and national tourist guide (for cultural and historical heritage trips).
I was born in Poprad in 1969. From my early childhood, I often looked out my bedroom window into the distance of the picturesque High Tatras, which fascinated me even then. In high school I started going with my friends to a small climbing "expedition" on the surrounding rocks, and later to the High Tatras. Mostly I went with a friend whose father was a member of the Mountain Rescue Service. During my studies at Comenius University in Bratislava, I loved coming back to the mountains.
In 1999 I started actively volunteering paramedic of the Tatra Mountain Rescue Service, and then I was hired there.
Precisely because of my relationship with the mountains I began working as a tourist guide with a focus on mountain areas.
Since 1998 I accompany tourists from around the world to the mountains and surrounding towns.
In 2011 I got certified as mountain leader.
Besides, I have been working as a member of the Council of the Slovak Association of mountain Leaders since it was established in 2011.

The best trip of our lives! It was our first time on a Via Ferrata and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Marcel. First of all, we felt completely safe, and second, we spent a wonderful day with an amazing person with whom we could freely talk in our native language (we highly recommend him to all Poles looking for a mountain guide!). On top of that, for the very first time we have beautiful photos together from such an adventure — Marcel made sure we had this keepsake by taking those incredible shots himself! Truly a priceless experience, and without a doubt, when we want to come back and try something new, we’ll reach out to Marcel again to share another mountain adventure.

Great host with very good communication (perfect spoken English and arrangements/tips) around the trip) . Takes care of you as a solo (tourist) hiker.
Successful, safe and educational hike up and down Mt Rysy from Slovakian side. Provided detailed information on plants, rocks, animals and history of Slovakia. Adjusted pace but kept it challenging. Very good English.
