Description

Improve your mountaineering skills during this 2-day glacier travel course in the beautiful Steingletscher in the heart of Switzerland!

Stein Glacier, known in German as Steingletscher,  is centrally located in the Swiss canton of Bern in the Uri Alps mountain range. With an area of about 8 kilometers squared, there is plenty of terrain for us to learn and practice basic glacier travel skills that are important for any aspiring mountaineer to master. Our two days together will serve as great preparation for future mountaineering objectives in the Alps and beyond.

This gorgeous glacier towers with above a beautiful green valley surrounded by craggy peaks. The glacier’s tongues sit at about 2,000 – 3,000 meters, winding down to a lovely glacial lagoon that creates an ideal Swiss landscape in the heart of the Alps. The area is a paradise for those outdoor adventurers who love to rock climb, hike, and ascend alpine mountain terrain.

Book now for a fun and informative 2 days practicing key glacier travel skills on Stein Glacier, a perfect area near Bern in the Swiss Alps!

Very user friendly platform with timely responses from Explore Share representatives. The trip itself with Tom from Alps Adventures was awesome and ensure that we had an experience that was 100% what we wanted. Recommend both the platform and the guide. Thanks to all for arranging and delivering so well.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
