With its breathtaking beauty and stunning scenery, this 6-day trek from Argentina to Cochamo, Chile via Paso El Leon really is a dream come true for hikers. Follow me and discover Patagonia at its best!
Huge mountains, friendly people and delicious foods will all be part of the trip! Both the Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia offer an ideal setting for this 6-day adventure.
During this backpacking expedition, I will safely guide you all the way from the Argentine steppe to the Pacific Ocean, in the Chilean Reloncaví Estuary. We’ll hike through Andean valleys, border rivers and lakes, and lose ourselves in the Valdivian jungle. By following a path from 1902 that was for the passage of cattle from Argentina to the Pacific and for the installation of a telegraph line, we’ll learn about this region’s history. Also, we’ll visit historic caves that were painted by the indigenous nomads known as the Poyas! Furthermore, we’ll explore a thousand-year-old Larch forest, learn about Patagonia’s amazing flora and fauna and more!
As you can see this 6-day trek will be a rewarding adventure, however, not a light one. That’s why I recommend this trip to advanced hikers only. Additionally, it’s essential to be in good physical condition.

I'm based in Puerto Montt, in Chilean Patagonia, and have experience as a guide in Patagonia, Central and South Chile.
I've been guiding for more than 15 years, was trained in the National Mountain School (FEACH), and I'm a member of the ACGM (Chilean Association of Mountain Guides).
Jose was friendly, professional, and well-prepared. I really enjoyed seeing this part of the world, and couldn’t have done it without a guide like him. I would highly recommend him for any trips he offers.
