Description
Les Calanques is probably one of the best spots in Europe for rock climbing. I particularly like guiding my friends and clients there because:
Climbing next to the sea is just a unique experience. Sea and rocks are a great mix, especially in the south of France. (What a nice feeling, swimming in the sea after climbing some walls!);
It is suitable for all levels of climbers, from beginners to more experienced as well;
We can go there all year round and enjoy climbing when it’s offseason ;
The views are really awesome.
I can adapt this program according to your level and preferences. We can also organize an approach to the climbing spot and hike from 45 minutes up to 2 hours.
In addition, we can choose routes that will lead us to the top of some of the most popular mountains in the area, such as La Grande Candelle, Calanque du Devenson, Cap Canaille, and Calanque d’En-Vau.
Although we can climb in Les Calanques all year round, my favorite months are from April to June and September to November, when it’s not too hot.
Based on your climbing level and the program we define together, I’ll take with me from 2 to 8 climbers maximum.

About the guide
My name is André Bernard and I am a mountain guide (IFMGA certified) and rock climbing instructor from Marseille.
Since I was 12 years old, I have been passionate about mountains and rock climbing. With the help of several experienced instructors and guides, I became an expert in the activity and continued my training in Les Calanques. Exploring this amazing massif is one of the things that I love the most!
I have been actively involved in the creation of the Calanques National Park and have supported the work of professional guides in the area. In 2011, I founded the Bureau des Guides des Calanques/Cassis, which is focused on rock climbing, hiking, canyoning, mountaineering, and mountain biking and oriented to environmental education.
