Monch (4,107m) and Jungfrau (4,158m) are two of the most well-known peaks in the entire Swiss Alps. And on this 2-day trip, you will have the opportunity to reach the summit of both of these majestic mountains.
Rising up from the wonderful Swiss commune of Grindelwald, we will meet at Jungfraujoch, from where we’ll start our way to the Monch mountain. The climb itself, while only lasting one day will be challenging. However, as long as you have some prior climbing experience and are in good physical condition, reaching the summit is a very attainable goal. And once you get to the peak’s apex, the views you will get to enjoy are astounding. After you’ve enjoyed the summit, we will then make our way to the Mönchjochhütte (3,658m), where we will spend the night.
On the second day of the trip, we will make our way from the hut to the summit of Jungfrau. Just like Monch, the climb to the summit of Jungfrau will be tough, but manageable. And from the summit, you will get to enjoy even more incredible views of the stunning Swiss Alps. After you’ve spent enough time on the summit, we will then make our descent and return to Jungfraujoch.
Climbing to the summits of 2 incredible peaks in just 2 days is not common, especially in a mountain range as enormous as the Alps. However, on this trip, that is exactly what you will get to do. So if that sounds like the kind of adventure you are looking for, just send me a request.
Meeting point
Starting from Jungfraujoch (3463m) we will get into the magical nature of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Passing through mixed terrain with rock and ice, we will take the south ridge to reach Mönch’s summit. The views of the lowlands and the high Alps from the 4110m peak are stunning. We’ll then descend towards Mönchsjochhütte hut.
Ascent -> 3 hours, 650 meters of elevation gain.
Descent -> 2 hours, 450 meters of elevation loss.
Starting early from the hut, we will pass by Jungfraujoch and start the ascent to Jungfrau. We’ll climb over the spur, first in ice and then in rock, until we reach firn that goes up to the foot of the Rotalsattels. A steep rise in firn follows, followed by easy climbing alternating with firn passages to the summit of the Jungfrau at 4158m. We’ll once again admire breathtaking views, and then take the route back to the Jungfraujoch.
Ascent -> 4-5 hours, 900 meters of elevation gain.
Descent -> 3 hours, 900 meters of elevation loss.

This was a great trip and Explore Share made finding the right trip super easy. Our guide was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and experienced and willing to teach us the skills we would have needed to climb the Matterhorn. Unfortunatly, the conditions were not right to climb so our guide recemmended another trip which was still a great experience and lots of fun.

Very user friendly platform with timely responses from Explore Share representatives. The trip itself with Tom from Alps Adventures was awesome and ensure that we had an experience that was 100% what we wanted. Recommend both the platform and the guide. Thanks to all for arranging and delivering so well.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
