Description

Located in the amazing Reunion National Park in Reunion Island, the Piton des Neiges (3,070m) offers some fantastic rock climbing opportunities.

The highest point in Reunion Island, the views you will get from the Piton des Neiges are tremendous. You will be in a state of awe as you gaze at the Reunion Island landscape. However, the real joy of this great peak are the amazing rock climbing options.

There are several routes you can choose from on the Piton des Neiges. One route is the Cilaos Circus. This wonderful multi-pitch route is approximately 300 meters long and will take you to the top of Reunion Island, where you can enjoy breathtaking views. The other route you can enjoy on this trip is the Gros Morne Edge. This great route is a nesting area for some beautiful protected birds: the Petrels de Barreu. Like the previous route, the views you will get to enjoy on the Gros Morne Edge are incredible.

While not excessively difficult, both routes on the Piton des Neiges have some tough spots. As a result, participants should have prior rock climbing experience. You should also be in good physical condition.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
