Description

These 5 days of climbing take place between Vercors and Diois: a hut to hut journey to discover the best climbing spots in La Drôme. It is both for beginners and for people with minimum level 6a leading.

It takes place in Omblèze, a magnificent small village in the Vercors, where we will climb on beautiful red limestone, and in two sites of provençal Drôme: Saou and Luc en Diois.

Enjoy the beauty of these 3 places and the Provençe villages as well as the mild climate.

During these 5 days, we will learn:
– Ensuring a second and a lead climber,
– Rappeling safely,
– Placing effective safeguards in the routes (nuts, pitons and tape slings),
– Relaying safely,
– Lead climbing in routes of level 5a – 5c…

I propose to you the following 5-day program. This is just an example, and I reserve the right to modify it at any time depending on the participants level and the weather.

Day 1: Climbing school at Ombièze
Meeting at 10AM at Omblèze. Climbing school day in the Gorges or the Ansage cliff. Short walk in the evening to discover the Grande Pissoire, a magnificent cascade, then dinner and overnight at lodge in Moulin de la Pipe in Omblèze.

Day 2: Long climbing route at Ombièze
Breakfast at the lodge. Long climbing route on the magnificent Ansage cliff, where you will discover very good red limestone. We can choose either “Jojo de bricoleur” (5c-6a) or “L’infatigable Zoé” (6a-6b) route. Dinner and overnight at lodge in Moulin de la Pipe in Omblèze.

Day 3: Long route at Saoû
Breakfast at the lodge. Then car transfer to Saoû (40min). Long climbing route in Saoû. This beautiful stony village with Provençal atmosphere will seduce you. Then dinner and overnight at lodge in Saoû or nearby.

Day 4 – Climbing school at Saoû
Breakfast at the lodge. Short climbing day at Saoû: many very beautiful areas. Short walk in the end of the day around the magnificent Saoû forest, natural reserve. Then dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5 – Long route at Luc-en-Diois
Breakfast at the lodge. Car transfer until Luc-en-Diois, a beautiful climbing site in provençal Drôme. Long climbing route day at Luc-en-Diois. Then dinner and overnight at Chatillon or nearby.

Day 6 – Long route or climbing school at Luc-en-Diois
Breakfast at the lodge. Long climbing route day or climbing school (depending on what you want) at Luc-en-Diois. Finally, the trip ends in the afternoon.

I will take up to 5 people with me, due to safety reasons and also so that we can fully enjoy the learning process.

Are you interested in this varied rock climbing trip? Then don’t hesitate to contact me! I would love taking you to Vercors to enjoy climbing and improving your skills.
