Description

Come ski touring to Lyngseidet, in beautiful northern Norway!

Ski touring is an unbeatable combination of silence and experience with a nice way of exploring new areas. The combination of speed and experience of riding untouched snow. Every year we make several tours to different mountains worldwide. With skins and an open mind, we can discover new dimensions of skiing.

Here is one of the tours I enjoy a lot: The Lyngen Alps!

Norwegian Lyngen are usually described as “Alpine peaks that stand straight up from the Ocean”. On this peninsula, 10 miles long and 3 miles wide, there are about 60 peaks. Jiekkevarie with its 1833 m elevation is the highest.

During the week, we stay in a lodge in Lyngseidet. The ride up is easier with flights to Kiruna or to Tromsö with Norwegian or SAS.

Once in Lyngseidet we have mountains and skiing possibilities on our doorstep.

We will decide where we go and what we explore during the week, according to the weather and snow conditions. We will look for nice skiing and comfortable atmosphere suited to the group and snow conditions. Indeed, the range is almost endless!

In terms of equipment, personally, I go on relatively light skis, about 90 mm in the waist with a light touring binding, type Ski Trab race. I strongly recommend that you properly test your ski boots and that you are comfortable with the ski equipment before starting the trip.

Please contact me if you want to go for this unique ski experience! If you prefer, I also offer ski touring trips in the Alps, like the Haute Route Andermatt to Engelberg.
