Southern Patagonia Icefield, 8-day Expedition from El Chalten

Discover one of the most secluded and pristine places on Earth, the Southern Patagonia Icefield, with Tano, an AAGM certified guide. Let him lead you on this 8 days expedition across this hypnotizing place, departing from El Chalten.

8 Days

Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, Dec

  • Enjoy the vastness of the Southern Patagonia Ice Fields
  • Experience an extreme environment surrounded by breathtaking sceneries
  • Explore glaciers, fjords and admire majestic peaks

Thousands of years ago, a vast ice layer covered most of Argentina and Chile.  Nowadays, there is still an extensive icy area that covers the south of both countries: the Northern and Southern Patagonia IceField.

Outside of Greenland and the Antarctic, the Northern and Southern Patagonia Icefields are the third biggest continental ice sheet. To explore them is a unique opportunity you cannot miss. So pack up your bags and join me on this 8 days private expedition across the Southern Patagonia Icefield!

Come and discover this pristine territory veiled with an endless sheet of ice and mesmerizing rock formations. Also, explore its dazzling glaciers, which flow into captivating fjords and magnificent lakes. Their constant movement has shaped throughout the years the steep valleys and iconic sceneries of this paradise.

Our adventure begins at El Chalten, a small and enchanting village in the argentinian province of Santa Cruz, also known as the National Trekking capital of the country. This charming town lies within the National Park of Los Glaciares, near the Las Vueltas river and the Torre lagoon. So exploring this beautiful place is the perfect way to begin our expedition.

Thereupon, we will enter the Southern Patagonia Icefield through the Marconi Pass. Here, we’ll get the best views of the Fitz Roy and the Cerro Torre massifs. Then, we will head towards the Paso del Viento, where we will enjoy hypnotizing sceneries of the mountains and lagoons brimming here.

Eight days might just be enough to unveil all the beauty of the Southern Patagonia Icefield. But I will make sure we visit the best spots of this marvellous place.

So don’t let this opportunity escape and join me on this private trip. Request to book this trip, and let me guide you across this natural paradise.
