Starter 4,000m Climb in the Alps: Lagginhorn (4010m), Weissmies (4017m), 3 days

The perfect climbing tour for people who want to tackle their first 4000 plus meter peaks in the Alps, this 3 day trip is definitely an adventure worth enjoying. During this trip, we will be climbing to the summits of Weissmies (4,017m) and the Lagginhorn (4,010m). Both of these peaks are part of the 82, 4000 meter plus peaks found throughout the Alps.

While this trip is a great starter in the Alps, participants should still have prior climbing experience. You should also be in good physical condition because we will be spending approximately 8 hours per day climbing and ascending up to 1,300 meters per day as well.

After beginning and departing from Saas Grund, the hut base of our trip will be the Weissmieshutte (2,726m). Very comfortable, with fantastic views of the Alps, the hut also provides great access to both Weissmies and the Lagginhorn.

Scaling Weissmies is the easier of the two peaks to climb, as there is no real technical aspects. However, you should have experience with crampons. For the Lagginhorn, the climb is a bit more technical, but not too much. Thus giving you 2 great climbs that you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy.

Along with the two peaks you will be climbing on this trip, you will also get to visit Kreuzboden, and enjoy a wonderfully scenic train ride in the Alps.
