Crossing the Weissmies in the Valais, above Saas Grund, from the Almageller cabine in Hohsaas, is a magnificent mountaineering race. This is an ideal first ascent and crossing at 4000m!
After an early breakfast, we walk on the moraines until the Zwischbergenpass. If the weather is nice, we will enjoy there one of the most beautiful sunrises in the Alps! Then, after a short walk on the glacier, we reach the ridge. It offers a nice easy and varied climb until the summit! From the summit, the itinerary follows the Triftgletscher until the cable car that takes us to the valley. It offers magnificent views of the whole Mischabel massif!
You’ll find a 2-day itinerary below this description.
However, if you have more time and you wish to prolong the pleasure up there, I propose to you the following. Instead of descending right away to the valley, we can spend the night in the Weissmieshütte and continue the next day with the Lagginhorn, another beautiful 4000 in the region.
I invite you to contact me if you are interested in this beautiful adventure! It’s ideal for mountaineering beginners who wish to have their first experience at 4000m. I would love taking you up there.
If you are seeking other mountain adventures, you can check out this ascent to Mount Eiger through the Mittellegi ridge.

Attracted by the mountains since childhood, I started with climbing and alpinism. I then discovered my passion for ski touring.
I started a Young&Sport instructor training to lead young people in the mountain, accompanied by guides. This experience inspired me to become a mountain guide, and I got certified in September 2015.
I work in a guide's office with other guides friends as Stéphane, Raphael, Christian and Jean-Luc, mountain leader.
What I love the most: make people enjoy, allow them to discover a region, laughing, everything in a safe way.
So if there's something you wish, if you dream of exploring a region or country, don't hesitate to contact me.
See you soon for new discoveries!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
