Join me and let’s climb the Mönch (4107 m) together in this 1-day program! It is one of the three iconic peaks of the Bernese Alps, together with the Eiger (3970 m) and the Jungfrau (4158 m).
Mönch is a perfect day trip over the south-west ridge or southridge. Starting with the first cablecar from Grindelwald-Grund, we will be back in the afternoon to Grindelwald.
The cable car/train is running the whole year, so it’s possible to do this ascent even during the whole autumn, until the beginning of December.
We will meet at 7:15 at the Station Eiger Expresse in Grindelwald-Grund Cablecar (not included in costs), go up to Kleine Scheidegg and then continue to Jungfraujoch, where we start the climb.
The normal route (south-east ridge) is a moderate climb that goes through rocky terrain and snow ridges, and it takes around 6 hours to cover the 650 meters up/down altitude gain. We can also take the south-west ridge instead, which is more technical and difficult, and the guide:client ratio is 1:1.
This climb is a perfect way to test your technique and adapt yourself to the altitude. Also, a great chance to put your mountaineering skills to use, in this specific type of terrain. The Mönch ascent is graded PD, with slopes up to 45 degrees.
So, are you in for this exciting climb? Contact me and let’s start planning your ascent to the Mönch! I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. I also offer a guided ascent to Jungfrau and Mönch! You can check it out!

Pera was great at communicating with me prior and during our climbing day. He chose the perfect location for the climbing goals and weather conditions and made sure I was always safe. I would definitely choose to climb with him again in the Swiss Alps or anywhere else!

Pere showed us the most amazing experience. It was my first time climbing outdoors, and first time climbing multi pitch. Pere was calm and super knowledgeable. He put us on a great route and gave us an experience that I truly will never forget. Thank you Pere!
A great day traversing the Drus from the Charpoua hut. No one on the route that day except us. The weather proved excellent. Perfect guiding and very secure climbing with Pere !
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
