Piz Bernina is the highest peak in the Eastern Alps. Lying at 4048 meters, it is also the highest mountain in the Bernina Range. It is located south of Pontresina and near the popular resort of St Moritz. The finest route in the whole massif is the Biancograt, an impressive knife-edge ridge on the north side of the Piz Bernina.
