Come with IFMGA-certified guide Maxence on a four-day rock climbing journey to the south of France and experience an immersive program in the Massif des Calanques.
Climb above the crashing waves of the Mediterranean Sea.
Gain experience from a certified guide on a well-designed rock climbing trip.
Settle in to the culture of south France in one of its most vibrant regions.
The Massif des Calanques beckons climbers from across the world to take part in its rich history and impeccable limestone. From ancient underwater caves and geoformations to unique flora and fauna, the natural beauty of the rocky coast between Marseille and Cassis is something from straight out of a dream.
Jutting into the Mediterranean Sea, the Calanques have an array of options for ambitious adventurers. Every type of climb, from single-pitch and beginner lines to sport climbing and traverses, can be found in this remote region. There are routes isolated from the crowds, so you can enjoy a peaceful and personal experience on the rocks.
There are amazing sport climbing routes at Les Goudes. The compact limestone holds complex and interesting routes, with both stunning views and close proximity to Marseille. It is a great place to start an extended program along the coast and will keep you excited for the days to come.
Easy access from a major city also increases the appeal. Between Marseille and Cassis, you can enjoy a day climbing in solitude and return to the massive urban center for a night of arts and leisure. Your program is designed to take advantage of these perks, combining them to create your ultimate traversing program.
From the first day, we will scour the Calanques in search of the best routes for you and walk extensively through the region. Four days gives us the added advantage of immersing ourselves in the culture of southern France, both on and off the rock. There is ample time to experience the variety of climbs located here, and to peer out over the unimaginable beauty of the Mediterranean Sea.
This area is a playground for rock climbers, and it would be my pleasure to share my expertise with you. From the different runs to the particular features of each location, I can show you the Calanques with an unparalleled knowledge and guide you on the time of your life. We will have a safe and incredibly fun time exploring this dreamy destination.
There are routes for everyone, and this is a sustained program. You should be in good shape and have enough experience to be comfortable on the rock.
Book this program in the Calanques NOW and traverse your way from Marseille to Cassis on the rock climbing trip of a lifetime!
I can also accommodate a three-day program or a five-day program, depending on your schedule. Or we can climb along the coast and portaledge above the Mediterranean!
While camping is not permitted in the Calanques, I would be happy to help you find accommodation(s), though you would be responsible for the payment and costs associated with the accommodation(s).

Even as a kid, I knew I wanted to become a mountain guide. Growing up in Aix-en-Provence, in southern France, the Alps have been my playground since a very young age. Amazing climbing spots like the Calanques and Gorges du Verdon were just a stone throw's away from my hometown.
Eventually, I also became an architect, another long-time passion. As an architect, I lived in New York, Barcelona and Rotterdam and learned to speak fluent English and Spanish. I also met great people and had an amazing time while doing it!
I'm now back home in France and spend most of my time guiding in the Alps. I'll be happy to take you rock climbing, skiing or mountaineering to some of my favorite spots.

Maxence was absolutely great! Super friendly and knowledgeable. With very little back and forth he was able to plan a perfect climbing day trip for us, including our first multi-pitch climb (and all of this was actually a backup plan, since the area we were going climbing was closed due to high winds). I look forward to going climbing again in Calanque and would not hesitate to book him again!!
We had a fantastic climbing day with Max. He was fun to hang out with. He set up lots of climbs that were fun for all the abilities of our group. He made us feel safe and confident. Max’s English is perfect which meant a lot to some of us.
The trip was extraordinary! Challenging yet very rewarding. Maxence was a great guide and a perfect companion.
Max was an AMAZING guide! He was super knowledgeable and was willing to teach us new climbing techniques. Not only did I have fun climbing outdoors, but I learned how to climb better outside. I highly recommend this trip! You won´t be disappointed!
I would like to recommend Maxence for his excellent guiding on Tuesday October 9th. We had a great time, felt safe and got in a lot of climbing. He was efficient and safe as well as super friendly. I am so glad I connected with him through your service. Thank you for finding him.I would hire him again if I was coming back to Europe for more outdoors activities.

Max took us on an amazing route in the Verdon and we had a fantastic day. He also helped us refreshed our multi-pitching skills so gave us the confidence to do routes ourselves after the guided climb. Thanks!
Had a great time with Max climbing at the Calanques. He picked a good route with lots of ambiance, and did a solid job leading me up it.
Me and my dad wanted to book a last minute guided rock climb in the Calanques. We came across Maxence through explore-share and he was very kind as he changed his timetable so that he could take us out at short notice. Me and my dad were a little nervous about rock climbing and Maxence very quickly put us at ease. He was friendly and warm and very encouraging when we were on the rocks. He took us to the most beautiful spot where we were the only ones climbing, and we had an amazing view of the Calanques. He took pictures for us and sent them to us afterwards. He also provided us with all the equipment that we needed and found us suitable routes to climb for our levels. We would recommend Maxence to anyone who wants to find a climbing adventure in the Calanques.
